COMMUNICATION WITH A PC 
 

Compatible PC Software includes the following features   

 

•

 

Device operational control features. 

•

 

Trace analysis and PC storage. 

•

 

Enables data transfer to and from the device via the USB port. 

 
The CD software folder includes the following files and folders 

•

 

ActiveSync

 containing the files for Microsoft ActiveSync program. 

•

 

Software Package 

compatible PC software for controlling the DR-500 

series unit, data analysis and data storage functionality.

 

 

To Connect the Device to PC software  

•

 

Switch on the device. 

•

 

Insert a CD into PC disk drive. 

•

 

Install the program Microsoft ActiveSync 
(XP) or Mobile Device Center (Vista, 
Win7).  

•

 

Connect the device to PC via the USB-A 
to USB-B cable. 

•

 

ActiveSync will propose a partnership 
when loaded – answer NO. 

 
 

Transferring Files to PC  
 

•

 

Switch on the device. 

•

 

Connect the device to PC via the USB-A 
to USB-B cable. 

•

 

Once the unit has established a 
connection with the PC the DR-500 file 
Browser will be activated. 

•

 

This Browser will enable the user to 
connect and launch the AFS 

Reflect

  

OTDR software, transfer files to the PC, 
copy files or load files directly to the 

Reflect
