ping <address>

Purpose

Use the ping <address> command (at the Enable Command Mode prompt) to verify IP network
connectivity to a particular IP address.

Syntax Description

Table 9

displays the syntax description for the ping <address> command.

Default Values

The ping command has no default values.

Command Modes

The Enable Mode Command prompt is required for this command.

Usage Examples

Ping the address 10.0.0.4.

Description

A.B.C.D

Specifies the IP address of the system to ping. Entering the ping command with
no specified address prompts the user with parameters for a more detailed ping
configuration. See Functional Notes (below) for more information.
