IP54 RATED NON-PERMANENT TEMPORARY USE OUTDOOR WET LOCATIONS
An IP54 rated lighting fixture is one, which has been designed with an enclosure that effectively
protects the ingress (entry) of external foreign objects and water. The
International Protection
(IP)
rating system is commonly expressed as
"IP"
(Ingress Protection) followed by two numbers
(i.e. IP54)
where the numbers define the degree of protection. The first digit (Foreign Bodies
Protection) indicates the extent of protection against particles entering the fixture and the
second digit (Water Protection) indicates the extent of protection against water entering the
fixture. An
IP54
rated lighting fixture is one, which has been designed to protect against harmful
deposits of dust, (the ingress of dust is NOT totally prevented, but cannot enter in an amount
sufficient to interfere with satisfactory operation of the fixture)
