By putting in an additional license key, certain or all restrictions can
be abolished.
Connecting to the GUI
After having completed the preceding chapter, you can start now
to use the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the configurator of the
A850 which offers advanced support and extremely user-friendly
handling. The connection of a PC to the GUI of the A850 is estab-
lished through HTTP/HTTPS via the Web Browser. In order to
enable communication of your PC with the GUI, you first have to
connect the A850 to the PC
•
either via LAN connection by means of a network cable which
has to be plugged into the LAN connector of the A850
•
or via console connection by means of a serial null modem
cable which has to be plugged into the console connector of
the A850.
Note: If you want to be able to use the GUI via the
console of the
A850, you first have to set up
a new connection with the role
“Guest”, proceeding as explained in “New Connection Wiz-
zard” - ”Setup an advanced connection” - “Connect directly
to another computer”.
Note: THIS DESCRIPTION IS ONLY VALID FOR THE USE OF A PC
WITH WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM!
Starting of the Web Browser
Now, start a Web Browser on the PC. A PC running Windows XP as
Operating System has been used as reference to describe the
steps of operation and to produce the following screen shots.
The Browser will be symbolized on the PC by an appropriate Icon:
