10 Network connection
Setting up network devices can require extensive knowledge.
If you are unsure or have any questions, please contact your network administrator.
The Adamczewski elektronische Messtechnik GmbH cannot give any information about
your local network, but only about the AD-VL 500 itself.
10.1 Connection
The connection to a LAN (Local Area Network) is made on the back of the unit.
See chapter 9 on page 35.
By factory default, the AD-VL 500 obtains its IP address settings from an IP address
stored in the
DHCP server present in the network.
The active DHCP setting can be seen in the display footer of the AD-VL 500 (DHCP
in green letters).
An active network connection can be seen in the display footer of the AD-VL 500 (LAN
in green letters). During network communication, the font color is temporarily changed
to yellow.
Information of the active network connection (IP address, etc.)
can be viewed on the unit under
unit information
.
If direct access to the unit is not possible, unknown unit addresses of units in the
Adamczewski elektronische Messtechnik GmbH can also be determined with the help
of the auxiliary programme

10.2 Protocols
The integrated HTTP web server is accessed on the standard port 80.
The Modbus TCP connection is possible on port 502, e.g. to read out measured values
automatically. A maximum of 28 registers (56 data bytes) can be read simultaneously
in one block.
This connection can also be used to read data from channels that have not been set
up for logging or display on the unit.
To read data via a Modbus TCP connection, a so-called Modbus TCP master is
required. This requires special expertise. Contact an external service provider if you
cannot operate such systems yourself.
For simple operation of the AD-VL 500 , with local analogue signals, such a connection
is not required.
