Air Cleaner Element
The air cleaner element should be
replaced every 2 years or 48,000 km
(30,000 miles), whichever comes
first. Under severe driving condi-
tions, it should also be cleaned every
6 months or 12,000 km (7,500 miles),
whichever comes first (see the next
page).
Replacement
The air cleaner element is inside the
box on the driver's side of the engine
compartment. To replace it:
1. Loosen the hose clamp around the
engine air intake tube. Slide the
tube off the air cleaner housing
cover.
2. Carefully unsnap the two hoses
from their clips on the air cleaner
housing cover.
3. Loosen the six Phillips-head
screws around the edge of the air
cleaner housing cover. Remove
the air cleaner housing cover and
set it aside.
