Power Quality Measurements
The event log will record the time and date stamp for the start and end of the event
and the total number of events.
Sag and Swell
The SGM1400-B Series meters can be configured to identify when voltage
sag/swell events have occurred. The event thresholds are configurable in terms of
when the voltage is below or greater than a defined voltage threshold for a
configurable period of time. The configurable thresholds include the following:
• The high voltage threshold
• The duration (in seconds) that triggers a high voltage event/alarm
• The low voltage threshold
• The duration (in seconds) that triggers a low voltage event/alarm
The voltage sag/swell alarm event is defined as follows:
• The event occurs when the RMS voltage exceeds the high voltage threshold
(180-300 V) for 1-300 seconds.
• The event occurs when the RMS voltage drops below the low voltage
threshold (180-300 V) for 1-300 seconds.
Over Frequency and Under Frequency
The SGM1400-B Series meters have configurable over frequency and under
frequency thresholds and durations. The thresholds can be configured as follows:
• Over frequency threshold
• Duration (in seconds) that triggers an over frequency event/alarm
• Under frequency threshold
• Duration (in seconds) that triggers an under frequency event/alarm

Over Current
The SGM1400-B Series meter has a configurable over current threshold and
duration (in seconds) to activate the event. The event log will record the time and
date stamp for the start and end of the event and the total number of events.
Additionally, the disconnector can be configured to open on an over current event.
The SGM1422-B has separate monitoring functions per element with their own
thresholds and time period settings. The 2
nd
relay on the SGM1422-B also has a
limiter for current.
Power Factor Threshold
The SGM1400-B Series meters have a configurable power factor threshold and
