2. Configuring the RAID Box. It is very important to configure the RAID Box
to create Acer’s cluster server.
a) Assume we insert three 4GB hard disks on the AcerAltos RS700,
and their ID is 0, 1, and 2.
b) Planning the SCSI Channels of the RAID Box.
Assign channel 0 to the Host channel.
Assign channel 1 to the Device channel
Assign channel 2 to the Device channel
3. Serial Port Connection and Setup:
a) The AcerAltos RAID Box can be configured via a PC running a VT-
100 terminal emulation program, or a VT-100 compatible terminal.
The provided interface cable converts the RS-232 signal of the 10-
pin header connector on the controller into a 9-pin D-Sub male
connector. The pin layout of the 9-pin D-Sub male connector is
similar to that of a PC’s serial port and is set as a DTE device. The
proper connection of the cable and pin layout is shown below.
