6 Putting into operation
ABIROB
®
350GC
All elements together form an operating unit which provides a plasma arc for
welding when supplied with the appropriate operating resources. The welding
wire required for welding is fed through the cable assembly and the torch neck
all the way to the contact tip. The contact tip transmits the welding current to the
welding wire, producing an arc between the welding wire and work-piece. The
welding arc and the molten pool are protected by an inert gas (MIG) or an
active gas (MAG).
5.1 Torch neck
The standard torch necks of the
ABIROB
®
350GC are available in the
geometries straight and 35°bent. Special designs will be manufactured upon
request depending on the application. They can be connected to the cable
assembly at the burner via the uniform interface at the connecting module.
5.2 Cable assembly
The air-cooled cable assembly provides the welding torch will all components
required for welding such as welding current, shielding gas and air. The
machine-side connection is available in Panasonic
®
design or with or with
ABICOR BINZEL
KZ-2.
