The following work must be carried out after emergency operation with a locked rotor by an
ABB Turbocharging Service Station:
¡
Remove rotor and check for imbalance
¡
Install rotor
¡
Fitting the spinner nose cone
Exception
The exception concerns customer requirements for test bed runs of new engines at a max-
imum engine load of up to 25 %. Because of the short locking time the rotor does not need
to be removed, nor does the rotor imbalance check have to be carried out.
In these test bed runs, it is not allowed to remove any set screws from the compressor wheel
when fitting the locking device (94003) (Fitting the locking device).

1. If present: Remove the spinner nose cone (25012) with the press-off screw (90924).
2. On locking device (94003), loosen retaining nuts (N) and remove with screws (B

).
3. Loosen screws (B

) and remove with washers.
4. Align the locking device to a fin of the wall insert (77000) and align the hole circle to the
drill holes in the compressor wheel (25000).
5. Fit at least 9 screws (B
1
) (refer to the table below for the tightening torque) without the
retaining nuts (N).
If more than 3 drill holes in the hub of the compressor wheel are occupied by set screws,
the corresponding number must be unscrewed.
6. Align the bracket (94020) to a fin of the wall insert and fit screws (B
