7. Assembly & Commissioning
DANGER!
Before any activity, first check whether the work can be performed without risk and under the observance of the
local valid regulations. In case of any doubt, contact your supervisors for clarification
IMPORTANT!
DANGER!
We recommend that all work is carried out in a dry environment and with good lighting conditions
IMPORTANT! DANGER!
•
The component needs to be considered as sensitive. Special precautionary measures must be taken to
protect against electrostatic influences
•
The high-voltage circuit must be disconnected
•
The auxiliary voltage must be disconnected during the work
•
Tighten all screws with the prescribed tightening torques
•
After work has been completed, reclose the casing (or for an interruption scheduled over a longer
period, also properly re-attach the packaging), in order to prevent the penetration of dust and moisture
as well as the manipulation by third parties
Ensure that, after each stage of work, loose parts (cover, bolts, nuts etc...) are safeguarded in an orderly
fashion and are not lost.
7.1. Unpacking the Material
During unpacking, ensure careful handling in order to avoid possible damage. Then, dispose of the relevant
packaging materials to the recycling circuit.
7.2. Assembly / Installation
7.2.1. General
This procedure is generally valid for one pole and two –pole installations. A specific document describes the
mounting procedure of a two-pole configuration and is available on request.
The high-voltage connections must be carried out in such a way that through cable weights, switching operations
as well as temperature influences, a minimum of mechanical stress is applied to the apparatus, in particular to
the insulators. For this reason, flexible intermediate sections are to be used, in order to avoid excessive
mechanical stresses.
The low-voltage connections of the auxiliary voltage supply and the protection and process control is to be
carried out in accordance with the overview circuit diagram associated with the project. The connection of the
control circuit is carried out with the help of an “Umbilical Cord“ and a multiple plug connection in accordance
with the local conditions.
After mounting and connection of the apparatus, the secure attachment of all contact-protection elements (cover
panel, doors etc.) must be checked.
It must also be ensured that the manual hand crank is kept accessible in a safe place.
7.2.2. Connecting Pole and Control Box
7.2.2.1. Version: External Multipin fast connector
Every pole is linked to the control box with the “Umbilical Cord“. This shielded cable is prefabricated and factory
tested. This cable is generally pre-cabled together with the control box. In this option, the fast connector must be
connected for installation to the bottom part of the pole.
After connection, always ensure that the connector is secured by both handlevers to the fixed part.
