Unpacking, inspection, and verification
Unpacking and inspection
1.
Inspect the shipping carton for damage.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If the shipping carton is damaged, keep it until the contents have been inspected for
damage.

Unpack and inspect the shipping carton contents. Verify that the carton contains one of each of the following items :

Calibration certificate

Allen wrench
-
Startup guide
-
Other documents per model options

Verify that the correct transmitter has been shipped. Use the transmitter tags (nameplates A and B) shown in Figure 12
and the information found on the packing slip and in section 3.2.2,
, for verification. The figure
shows a transmitter with a typical barrel housing configuration.

Nameplate A
–
This nameplate provides the model number, maximum working pressure, range and span limits, power
supply, output signal, diaphragm material, filling fluid, and serial number.

Nameplate B
–
The certification nameplate is on the transmitter neck and indicates the specific rating for hazardous
(classified) locations (or potentially explosive atmospheres) as provided at the time the order was placed. Go to
Appendix E,
Hazardous area ratings and considerations
, for additional identification of equipment ratings and
hazardous location information.

Name tag C
–
This tag shows the details of the multivariable sensor, including the high (+) and low (-) input sides.
