Filling instructions
Information regarding the filling instructions:
These Filling Instructions contain important information for safe and correct filling of the
A.B.S. silo for wood pellets from a tank truck.
These filling instructions have been written for the pellet supplier who, as a result of his
technical training, has the necessary knowledge and experience. At the same time, the
filling instructions present an opportunity to inform tradesmen and the end user about the
correct procedure to be followed when filling the A.B.S. silo for wood pellets.
The filling instructions for the A.B.S. silo for wood pellets do not apply to other silos.
These filling instructions are to be kept accessible in the vicinity of the equipment and
together with the technical documentation. The abbreviated version of the filling
instructions should be attached directly to the filling couplings.
8.1 General instructions
Look after the accessibility of the filling nozzle(s)!
Make sure that that you have an adequate access road to your storage
system. 3 m width and 4 m headroom are needed at least.
•
The A.B.S. silo for wood pellets has to be filled
in the way that the pellets build up from behind.
The filling pressure has to be set up that the flight
path of the pellets does not stop before. Otherwise
the calculated filling volume cannot be reached.

The required filling pressure can vary from construction to
construction because of the local arrangements.
•
Avoid bends, radii and extensions of the filling-set. This
could harm the pellet quality and lead to disfunctions on
the construction
•
Make sure that there is a 50 cm flow-calming section at the end of the filling-set.
•
The impact surface (attached on the flexible lid) has to be hung down 20 cm up the upper
frame edge.

The calculated filling volume according to the manufacturer’s information depends on

Filling pressure and therewith bulk good arrangement inside the silo
o
Length of the hose- respectively the filling-set, laying of the hose
o
Installment situation of the silo and the filling-set
o
Quality of the pellets and their flow characteristics
o
Required ground clearance of the extraction device
