GIGASYNC MANUAL
VER. 3 REV. 1
Special case -48V
Some installations require a -48V power supply through the network, this option is perfectly feasible with GigaSync. We
simply have to connect the -48V to the input cartridge
7
and then choose the correct GigaKey to be able to obtain -48V in
the PoE ports based on the input pinout of the devices we want to connect.
Gigabit Injector GS-G-POE-CS
The POE-CS injector, as well as guaranteeing all the functions of the GS-G-POE, gives us the possibility of injecting,
through the same port, the synchronization pulses compatible with the patented methods: Canopy Sync, which only works
with a fast ethernet (100BaseT) and Cambium Sync that allows it to work with Gigabit Ethernet (1000BaseT). This means
that the POE-CS injector will allow you to take advantage of the synchronization
8
of compatible network devices whit one
of the methods mentioned above.
GigaKey
This is the generic name that identifies the selection keys of the output pinout of each PoE port.
The GigaKey has been designed to avoid handling the microswitches or jumpers that normally perform this function, but
are subject to errors. This simplifies selection, and executable simply by inserting the chosen key into the slot corresponding
to the PoE port.
If desired, you can select a different GigaKey for each PoE port on the same cartridge.
At the moment, 4 different GigaKey have been developed that allow a wide range of compatibility between devices on the
market. They are easy to identify by their code and different colors. The pinout is detailed below:
