3.4 Sterilization
After each treatment, please sterilize under high temperature and high pressure as per the following steps.
– Clean the contra-angle handpiece with method set out in 3.1.2.
– Inject lubricant into contra-angle handpiece.
– Place the contra-angle handpiece into a sterile bag and seal it (only when it is autoclaved under vacuum condition).
– Steam sterilization at 134°C, 2.0 bar-2.3 bar (0.20 MPa-0.23 MPa), for 18 minutes.
WARNING:
– Use only autoclaves that are matching the requirements of EN 13060, EN 285.
– Use a validated sterilization procedure according to ISO 17665.
– Respect the maintenance procedure of the autoclave device given by the manufacturer.
– Use only this recommended sterilization procedure.
– Control the effi ciency (packaging integrity, no humidity, color change of sterilization indicators, physico-chemical integrators, and digital records of cycle’s
parameters).
– Maintain traceability of procedure records.
– To keep it clean, the contra-angle handpiece that has been sterilized should be placed in a bag that has been sterilized under high temperature and high pressure.
3.2 Cleaning of nozzle
– Use a cleaning needle to clean the internal and external nozzles. (Figure 13,
Figure 14)
– Connect all the nozzles to water hose, and then rinse with water.
3.3 Disinfection
– After the cleaning of contra-angle handpiece, wipe the surface of contra-angle
handpiece with a soft, clean cloth moistened with methanol, ethanol or phenolic
alcohol.
– Do not use oxidizing potential water (strong acid, super acid) or disinfectant to clean, soak or wipe the contra-angle handpiece.
