In order to change the batteries, you will need a small No. 1 Phillips
screwdriver and a quarter-inch nut driver.
Put the 3M
™
ScanEM-QC Electromagnetic Near-Field Probe face down on
a flat soft surface.
Remove the two screws on the back of the unit and put them in a safe.
Using a nut driver, loosen the nut on the SMB connector on the back of the
unit. Do not take the nut off.
Holding both halves of the ScanEM-QC Probe as a single piece, flip it over
face up
Gently remove the top half of the enclosure.
Pay special attention not to break wires of the 3M
™
ScanEM-HQC Probe’s
antenna
Carefully remove the old batteries and discard them. Install new batteries.
Observe correct polarity. Do not touch internal parts other than the
batteries and the battery holder.
Close the case and replace the screws. Do not overtighten them, as it may
damage the enclosure.
Tighten the connector nut (hand-tight).
What If:
There is no change in the ScanEM-QC Probe’s sound or LED bar while
scanning
Check to see if the tested product is powered up
Make sure that the ScanEM-QC Probe’s antenna is as close to the
measured area as possible
Did you set the Level dial properly?
