When the 3M
™
ScanEM-QC Electromagnetic Near-Field Probe is
pointed away from the tested area, only the green light should be on.
Maybee you don’t have an emission problem
Is it difficult to pinpoint at the exact location of the problem in a
self-contained mode?
The overall emission level may be too high. The 3M
™
ScanEM-QC
Electromagnetic Near-Field Probe Kit could be confused if high-level
emissions are coming from the sides and you are trying to locate a
lower-level emission spot in the middle. Try to increase the background
level (adjust the Level dial). Make sure that the ScanEM-QC Probe is
perpendicular to the surface of the tested area.
Sometimes EM fields change with time depending on what is going on
inside your product. In this case, the ScanEM-QC Probe will reflect
those changes, which may make it harder to zero in on specific points of
high emission.
The LED bar lights up, but there is no sound:
The Sound switch should be in the On position (to the right).
All LEDs are on and the sound is at the highest pitch all the time:
Set the Level dial to a higher background setting (up to one on the Level
dial)
The emission level is too high
The ScanEM-QC Probe doesn’t respond at all:
Make sure that the red Operate button is pressed continuously while you
are conducting your test.
Rotate the Level dial until the lights come on.
Check the batteries (follow instructions for replacement)
