6.0  Cable Port Seal

6.2

Scuff and round out the area of sheath where the
sealing tape and port will be located.

6.3

Slide the PST, (pull cord must be opposite 
the cabinet) the steel port and gasket over the 
cable and out of the Cabinet.

6.4

Wrap the sealing tape approximately 1" away 
from the Cabinet’s top or bottom, so it will 
center the cable in the port. Position and 
install the gasket and port to the Cabinet as 
shown in the drawing.

6.5

Build an even transition from the port 
to the cable with more sealing tape.

7.0 Cable Termination

7.1

Separate the Feeder and Distribution count of 
the cable(s) into 100 pair groups. Route the 
groups to the tie bars to the appropriate frame 
location according to frame count.

a.) It is recommended that the Feeder count is in
the center blocks and the Distribution count 
blocks are on the sides of the Feeder blocks in 
the Cabinet.

6.1

Two 3 3/8" and one 2 5/8" Metal Cable Ports are included with the Cabinet.  Use the appropriate sized 
port for the cable(s) in the Cabinet. An optional 4” Metal Cable Port can be ordered if needed. The Kits 
include a port, sealing tape and a collapsible tube called the 3M

Pull-N-Shrink Tube (PST).

6.6

Install the PST over the tape and port. Unwind the pull cord of the PST counter clockwise until the 
tube is collapsed and the core is removed.

6.7

Wrap entire PST with two half-lapped layers of 3M

88T Vinyl Tape or equivalent.

6.8

Secure the cable(s) to the Cable Tie Bar.

6.9  Attach the bond strap(s) to the Bond Plate and tie the strap(s) together and out of the way from the frame 

and jumper trough. Record the bond strap(s) identification on the Cable Bond Label in the Cabinet.

6.10  Reinstall the Cabinet’s Port Plate, the Top Center Frame Mount Bracket or the Bottom Jumper Wire 

Trough if removed.
