Inserting the 3C589C PC Card
Before you install the PC Card, make sure that you meet the
requirements described in Chapter 1. The 3C589C PC Card
can be inserted into any PC Card slot on your PC whether the
power is ON or OFF.
These are general instructions that apply to most PCs. Refer to
the manual that accompanied your PC for more instructions.
Insert the 3C589C PC Card into the PC Card slot, as shown in
Figure 2-2, and slide it in until it is firmly seated.

CAUTION:
Do not force the 3C589C PC Card into the slot, or
you may bend the pins inside the slot.
Once you have inserted the PC Card, you can connect it to
the network port.
Connecting the 3C589C PC Card to the Network
There are two types of connectors for the 3C589C PC Card
network connection: an RJ-45 connector (3C589C-TP cable) and
a combination RJ-45 and BNC connector (3C589C-COMBO
cable). Both types of connections are described in the following
sections.
