On a Network Without Any DHCP Server
The AP uses the default factory configuration that includes the following information.
z
The default IP address of the AP is 192.168.0.50.
z
The AP has the Telnet server enabled by default. The default authentication
username and password are
admin
, and
password
respectively (case
sensitive). You can remotely manage and maintain the AP through Telnet.
Logging In to the AP (FAT AP)
To log in to the AP that has an IP address configured, follow these steps:
1) Connect the AP to a PC, and ensure that the PC and AP can communicate
with each other properly.
2) Launch a web browser. In the address bar, type your AP’s IP address and
press
Enter.
3) At the AP login interface, type the username, password, and the verification
code, select the language (English and Chinese are supported at present),
and click
Login
. The default username and password are case-sensitive:

Converting a FAT AP to a FIT AP

5 Approved Channels
The operating channels of the AP vary with countries. Select your country from the
country-selection list.
To conform to FCC , Canada, EU and other country-specific restrictions, the AP may
have shipped with channel restrictions for your country. Please visit the 3Com web site
for the latest software version. Appendix A lists the Software Downloads information.
