How to Obtain the
Latest Software
The image files for software release 3.0.5 are available from the 3Com
Web site:
http://support.3com.com/infodeli/swlib/index.htm
Refer to Table 1 in Chapter 1 of these release notes to record the
software filename for each different type of module. Use this filename to
ensure that you download the correct software from the 3Com Web site.
Where to Place the
Software
Download the files to a TFTP server on your network; specifically, to the
server directory that is usually named “tftp” or “tftp boot”. In addition,
note the IP address of the server. When it is time to install the software on
your Switch 4007 modules, you will enter commands from the system
prompt that retrieve the software images from this address and directory.
Releases of software prior to Release 2.x.x do not support the EME
download operation from a Windows 95 or Windows 98 Telnet session.
You can download software from the EME console interface or through a
non-Windows 95 Telnet session.
