Automatically assigns IP addresses to all of the PCs on 
the network. You need to restart all the PCs on your 
network so that they use the new IP addresses after 
completing the Internet Firewall configuration.

Router/Modem

If your Internet router/modem is not acting as a DHCP 
server then you are required to enter some network 
information by the Internet Firewall Wizard. The wizard will 
only ask you for the information that it cannot find itself.

The Internet Firewall Wizard:

■

Asks you for information about your network (for 
example, IP addresses).

■

Determines appropriate settings for the Internet 
Firewall.

Required Information for the Internet Firewall Wizard

You need the following information about IP addressing on 
your network. You may be able to obtain this information 
from the Internet Service Provider (ISP) that you use to 
connect your network to the Internet. The following 
illustrates where this information is used.

■

IP Address for your Internet Gateway

This is the address of your Internet Gateway which 
attaches the LAN to the Internet. It is the router or 
modem that sits between the Internet Firewall and the 
Internet.

■

DNS Server Address

This is the address of a Domain Name System server, 
and can be for a server either on the LAN or Internet. 
This is required for downloading updates of the 
OfficeConnect Web Site Filter, as well as for the Name 
Lookup tool. This address may be supplied by the ISP.

■

WAN IP Address

This address should be in the same subnet as your 
router. It is the address that is used in communication 
over the Internet.
