Status messages you may see on the status line:
Initializing

Degraded
, indicated by "Degraded"
Resyncing
, indicated by "Resyncing x%"
Recovering
, indicated by "Recovering x%"
Drive Removed
, indicated by "Drive ‘n’ removed" where ‘n’
corresponds the drive number of a drive that has either failed or
been physically removed. Drives are numbered 0 through 3, 0 is the
leftmost drive when viewing from the front of the unit.
“Recovering” or “Resyncing” is the process by which the array controller
creates the data parity information or corrects data parity errors that
may have occurred because of power loss, incorrect shutdown or some
other data error.
The term “degraded” refers to the state of the Array data, not
necessarily the hardware or disk drives themselves. It indicates that
the parity information that protects the data is not up to date.
Parity errors may occur if the TSS-2470 Time Delay loses power, or is
improperly shut off. No data will be lost, but the parity re-
initialization process may take several hours. NEVER directly unplug
the power cords from the unit without first properly shutting down the
system. Shut down the system only by momentarily pressing the front
panel
Power
button or selecting
Start > Shutdown > Shutdown
from the graphic
user interface.
Note that in some cases the power may not automatically shut off after a
Shutdown is executed. If the system does not turn itself off within
three minutes, force the power off by holding the
Power
switch in until
the unit turns off.
Drive Replacement
If the array continues to indicate a failed drive, replace the drive.
Although the drives are hot swappable and can be replaced while the
system is running, it is recommended that if possible the unit be
taken offline and powered off prior to conducting any maintenance or
repairs.
If the drive is hot swapped, the system should recognize within no more
than 5 minutes that a new drive has been installed, and start to rebuild
the array.
If the rebuild process does not start automatically, it may be necessary
to cycle power. If this does not result in the rebuild starting
automatically, contact 360 Systems support.
When powering up with a newly replaced drive, the RAID boot up screen
should indicate that the drive is present. Once the system has powered
