Go To (Locate) dialog in a multi-day delay system

Note that the Locate feature is dependent on the Time Delay’s System
Time remaining constant.

This requires that the date and time be set

before the delay process is started, and that the time is not changed
by Daylight Savings Time operations.  Use a time zone that is relative
to GMT, not a local time. The Date Time dialog explains how to set up
GMT referenced time zones, or see the section on setting the Date and
Time on page 31. It is also recommended that NTP automatic time update
be used.

continued…

There are two or three possibilities for setting the time zone
depending on the nature and location of operations. Generally, it is
typical to set the Time Delay’s system time to reflect the time zone
of the originating feed. This means that the Recorded On time
indication will reflect the time of day that the program aired
originally.  On playback, assuming that the delay time is equal to the
difference in time zones, the playback time will match local time.

Setting the System Time to the time zone of the target market of the
delayed feed will mean that the Recorded On Time will reflect the
local time in the target market. The playback time will reflect the
time of day in the local time that the material was recorded. Normally
this is not recommended. It is not possible to set this independently
in the two channels of a DualZone Time Delay.

The third possibility is also not necessarily useful and should be
avoided if possible. If the Time Delay is located in a different time
zone than the originating feed

or

 the target market, it could

potentially be set to the local time of the facility where it is
located.  Although it may be tempting to make it consistent with other
equipment in the building, it can be confusing for operators to have
to “convert” the time they are seeing as the playback position.
