The multicast supports sending a same data packet to multiple devices.
An IP host uses the Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) to report multicast member
information to neighbor routers. Meanwhile, a multicast router uses the IGMP protocol to learn
which hosts belong to the same multicast group.
The device supports the IGMP proxy for processing IGMP packets. After the IGMP proxy is
enabled, a LAN host can request being added to or leaving the multicast group. A multicast
router can act as a proxy to send multicast packets to a multicast group at the WAN side.
