The position indicator is mounted on the shaft of resistance transmitter -42- (Fig.7) by a screw -41-. Loosen this
screw and, in the OPEN position, turn the indicator so that the division line 100 on its scale tallies with the red point on
the sight glass in the control box cover. Finally, retighten the screw -41- and secure it by a drop of quick-drying varnish.
CPT 1/A current position transmitter - adjustment of the transmitter
First, the adjustment of suitable transmission from the output shaft of the actuator to the transmitter shaft should be
effected, according to the required working stroke of the actuator (Table on the page 12).
This adjustment is performed by means of adjusting gear K3 in the gearbox of the signalling unit, according to Mounting
Instructions, Page 8, Point b).
Then, the required gear of the pair of gears fitted on the transmitter shaft should be brought into engagement.
The gear of a smaller diameter is designated A, whereas the larger gear is designated B.
Adjustment is carried out by two-hole oval shim plates being moved to a position under or above the transmitter support
(with gear A or B in mesh, respectively). This should be done in the position in which the transmitter support is at a maximum
distance from the gearbox.
Then, the fixing screws of the transmitter support are slightly tightened so that the transmitter support can be moved to
such a position that gear A or B is in mesh with the driving gear. In this position, check the gear meshing and adjust the double
gear in height with respect to the driving gear by means of shims on the transmitter shaft, if required. To prevent the transmitter
shaft from being stressed in the direction at right angles to its axis, there should be a slight clearance between gear A or B and
the driving gear. Then, tighten the fixing screws of the transmitter support properly and secure them with a drop of varnish.
The velocity stage of gears K3, A and B is selected, according to the accompanying table. When the required working
stroke lies in an area covered by the two bands it is advisable to choose the lower band.
After adjustment of a suitable speed gear-change stage, the current transmitter should be adjusted by the following
procedure:
