SCENARIOS
S1 button scenario #1 ADULT
Operations: (i) shockable rhythm detection
(ii) 2 minutes of CPR (30:2 ratio)
Messages: do not touch patient
analysing heart rhythm
shockable rhythm detected
stay clear of patient
charging
press the shock button **
shock delivered
it is safe to touch the patient
begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation, now
make 5 cycles of 30 chest compressions followed by 2 breaths
press patient's chest down fast
(metronome – 30 beeps)
give two breaths
breath
(1sec mute) breath
** if the shock button is not pressed within 10-12 seconds the unit will pass to CPR step along with the
voice message “
shock cancelled - shock button not pressed ”.

Operations: (i) no shock advised
(ii) 2 minutes of CPR (30:2 ratio)
Messages: do not touch patient
analysing heart rhythm
no shock advised
it is safe to touch the patient
begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation, now
make 5 cycles of 30 chest compressions followed by 2 breaths
press patient's chest down fast
(metronome – 30 beeps)
