REPAIR
1 GENERAL
Except permissible repairs, as outlined in ASSEMBLY and DISASSEMBLY, repair of detailed
parts and components during maintenance is considered neither practical nor reliable.
In case of wear or damage components will not be repaired but replaced.
Do not attempt to repair the rapid water heater or any of its components by welding.
2 REPLACEMENT
A. After replacements have been carried out, whereby sealants have been disturbed, fresh
sealant shall be applied, to restore the rapid water heater to its original condition.
B. Replace all parts damaged of worn. All gaskets, lock washers and seals if removed during
disassembly, are to be replaced regardless of their apparent condition.
C. When replacing wiring, care should be taken to maintain flexibility of leads to prevent the
wiring harness from rubbing against edges of components or hardware.
D. Where wiring is to be replaced use wire of type M22759/8, Mfg per QPL-AS22759-LATEST,
AWG14 or AWG16. (See wiring diagram Fig. 102 for individual wire size).
E. Electrical components such as relay, indicator lamps, switch, etc. are to be replaced if
damaged or in a worn condition.
F. Broken or frayed wiring must be replaced according to wiring diagram Fig. 102.
3 SPARE
PARTS
For ordering spare parts see the ILLUSTRATED PARTS LIST chapter.
4 REPAIR
INSTRUCTIONS
The relay used has a limited lifetime. When a unit is used intensively, replace the relay every 5
years.
The amendment is ONLY for repair station.
If during repair, it is noticed that one of the contacts fails (either not switching on or off), the spare
“D” contact can be used.
For example: If the B contact group does not switch on (or off) the heating element, then these
wires can be connected to the D group. Contact B1 becomes D1 and contact B2 becomes D2.
