USER GUIDE - Rev.5 (January 2018)
•
VRRP Id.
The master router uses the address MAC 00:00:5E:00:01:XX, as
established in the standard protocol, where XX is the Virtual Router IDentifier
(VRID). The VRID allows a distinction to be made between the different virtual
VRRP routers operating in the network. The parameter establishes the VRID value.
If, for example, VRID 3 is specified, the MAC virtual address will be
00:00:5E:00:01:03.
•
Priority.
This parameter establishes the priority the router will present during the
process for selecting the master router. The range admitted is between
1
and
254
.
The master router is identified due to using priority 255, once the selection process
has ended.
•
Virtual IP.
This establishes the virtual IP address to be used by the client to access
the routing service. It is common to all routers included in the virtual router.
•
Virtual Mask.
This establishes the net mask associated with the IP address of the
previous parameter.
•
Preempt.
This option means that if a backup router has a priority greater than the
one granted to the master router selected, the equipment will force the change and
declare it as the new master router as soon as it is included in the virtual router. A
delay can be programmed for this action through the Preempt Delay parameter.
•
Preempt Delay.
This allows the time in seconds to be specified for the backup
router with the higher priority to be converted into the master router.
•
Authentication Method.
This allows the authentication method for the physical
routers included in the virtual VRRP router to be selected. The options are
PASS
(Password) and
AH
(Authentication Header), but it is also possible to operate
without authentication, by selecting the option
none.
•
Password.
This establishes the password to be used in the event of selecting the
authentication use.
Ping Keep Alive:
This option is configured between a backup router and the master router, and allows
that a physical backup router to be chosen as router master when the supervision
function fails.
The
Enable Wireless WAN
option of the
cell0
submenu of the
WAN
menu must be in
ON
in the master router, and in
VRRP
in the backup router.
