12 OPERATION
12.1 Operation instructions
ATTENTION!
PROTECTION FOR LACK OF OIL!
The ZIPPER plate compactor cannot be started when there is too less oil in it!
ZIPPER machines don’t assume liability for operation mistakes.
This also applies to complaints which can be traced to the protection for the
lack of oil when there is too less oil in the machine. All the expenses at a
justified complaint will be brought to account by ZIPPER machines.
ATTENTION!
READ THIS MANUAL BEFORE OPERATION!
The operation manual is part of the machine and the customer must read it
before the first use. When the machine is given to another person you must
also give him this manual.
CHECK OIL BEFORE FIRST START
For operation temperatures of 10° to 30°C ZIPPER recommends SF 15W40
engine oil.
The plate compactor is running by petrol.
Before you use the machine the first time you have to control the right belt
tension!
I M P O R T A N T
Do not operate the engine at maximum speed right from the start, as the engine itself as
well as the gearing components need a running-in time. The engine itself reaches its
maximum capacity after the first 10 hours of operation. Non-compliance with this
instruction reduces your engine lifespan substantially.
12.2 Operation
12.2.1 Workings before starting up
 Reading, understanding and obeying the safety instructions.
 Unpacking all the parts. Controlling the plate compactor on dust and other dirt.
ATTENTION!
The compactor has grease lubrication on its disposal. For a fast and consistent dispersion
the manufacturer attaches some oil into the impregnator. This oil escapes through a
bleed screw. Take care that the oil which gets into the vibration plate won’t dispense on
your working ground.
