Steps 8-11 apply to Veriflow FMA set R-10003 only.

8.  Hang a saline bag and spike the Saline Bag

Figure 15

9.  If only one saline bag is being used, clamp off the flow from the

second saline spike to prevent air from entering the inflow tubing.
10. Connect the waste outflow tube to the waste canister or system.
11. Connect the inflow tube to the sheath (sheath type may vary)

Figure 16

12. Place the sterile Tricera handpiece into the sterile field, pass the

handpiece connector plug out of the sterile field, and plug the Tricera

handpiece into the handpiece receptacle (Fig. 1 item 2) on the front

panel of the Controller (Figure 17)

Figure 17

13. Connect the red suction tube connector to the suction connector on

the end of the Tricera handpiece as shown

Figure 18

NOTE: steps 14-17 apply to Veriflow FMA set R-10003 only.

14. Select the joint for the procedure by touching the joint selection

touchscreen or using the footswitch.

Figure 19

15. To calibrate the Tricera Controller for the back pressure of the

endoscope/sheath combination, the controller will run a calibration

cycle.  This process will purge the air from the inflow tubing and will

pump fluid out the tip of the arthroscope for approximately 20 seconds.
16. During the purge and sheath calibration cycle, the arthroscope

should be held at the height of the surgical site.
17. Press the green arrow or the middle circular button on the footswitch

to active the purge and calibration cycle.
NOTE: Do not close stopcock or insert scope into joint until calibration

has completed.
NOTE: If the incorrect joint was selected, return to the joint selection

screen by pressing the back arrow in the bottom left corner of the

purge/calibration screen
