6. Loop the longer end around

the mast, above the

gooseneck, and tie off with a

bowline. The loop should be

finger-width loose around the

mast.

5. Thread the 2ft line (#10)

through an 18mm block (#6).

Tie an overhand knot on the

short end, and then another

overhand knot around the

longer end. Pull to slide the

knot down and tighten.

Outhaul

7. Thread the 5ft Dyneema (#11)

through another 18mm block (#6)

and secure with another double

overhand knot. (See Step 5)

8. Tie a finger-width loose

bowline around the boom with

the long tail end, leaving the

block to hang off by 10in. Make

sure the block is facing away from

the end of the boom and towards

the mast.
