APPENDIX G: VIAVI 8800 TEST PROCEDURES

MAINTENANCE GUIDE | MT-4E ANALOG & P25 DIGITAL RADIO SYSTEMS

AF Gen 1 is conﬁgured to inject a 1.0 KHz tone at -8.0 dBm (0.308 Vrms) into the transmitter balanced input. A

continuous tone injected into the transmitter will be demodulated as a “ﬂuctuating” audio level and tone on

older P25 radio systems. Optionally, a microphone can be connected to the front panel of the transmitter and

the tester can speak into the microphone and listen to the demodulated audio on the 8800.

Ensure the correct NAC is being transmitted properly as shown in Figure G-31. The NAC is programmed into the

transmitter via the RSS. There are no speciﬁc measurements to make on this test, just verify that the transmitter is

operating�
