Preheat Level
This works exactly as the TOP SET feature
described above. The display shows preheat
level in %.
Law
This works exactly as the TOP SET and feature
described above. The display shows the law set
as a number (1=NORMAL, 2=LINEAR,
3=SQUARE, 4=SWITCH).
Resetting Default Values
Press and hold down the appropriate TOP SET,
PREHEAT LEVEL or LAW button, press the
required channel button(s) and press + and -
together.
The default settings are: Start Channel: 001;
Channel Test: 50%.; Top Set: 100%.; Preheat
Level: 2%; Law: Normal.
Note
Whenever any of the settings of the Contour are
changed, there is a short delay before the memory
is updated although the data is updated
immediately. The display blinks 2 to 3 seconds
after the change is recorded. This lengthens the
life of the memory chip.
Warning.
If the dimmer is powered off before
the blink, the changes will be lost.
Front Panel Disable / Enable
It is possible to lock the front panel controls
from all use. This is known as Front Panel
Disable.
This feature prevents an unauthorised user from
changing any of the settings of the Contour.
Once set, the front panel will be disabled,
regardless of powering off or on or of any button
pushes except the correct sequence to turn the
front panel back on.
This feature is turned on and off in Test Mode,
but for convenience is described here. The Test
Mode section of this manual (Page 14)
describes other aspects of the inbuilt tests.
To Disable the Front Panel:
Press and hold the four START CHANNEL,
TOP SET, PREHEAT and LAW buttons to enter
Test Mode. The display flashes the software
version number.
Press + once to display Option Selection. The
display shows 1@0 or 1@1. The center digit of
the display flashes ‘2’ and ‘3’ alternately to form
a crude @ symbol
Press channel 3 button to select the Front Panel
Disable option. The display shows 3@1.
Press the channel 3 button again to disable the
front panel. The display shows 3@0 and blinks
off as the button is pushed to confirm that the
panel has been disabled.
NOTE
If a front panel button is pressed whilst the panel is
disabled, the display shows running dots to signify
that the panel has been disabled.
To Enable the Front Panel:
Press and hold the four START CHANNEL,
TOP SET, PREHEAT and LAW buttons to enter
Test Mode. The display flashes the software
version number.
Press + once to display Option Selection. The
display shows 1@0 or 1@1.
Press channel 3 button to select the Front Panel
Enable option. The display shows 3@0.
Press + and - together to allow a change to the
Disable feature. The display flashes the
software version number as the system returns
to Version Display.
Press + once to display Option Selection. The
display will return to 3@0.
Press the channel 3 button again to enable the
front panel. The display shows 3@1 and blinks
off to confirm that the front panel has been
enabled.
Press and hold the three buttons START
CHANNEL, + and -.
The display will be blanked. and Test Mode will
be exited when the START CHANNEL button is
released.
NOTE
This is deliberately a complex procedure to make
it less likely that a user will accidentally discover
the enabling sequence without these instructions.
