VCR functions are available and
channels are selected at VCR
Front Panel Display shows which VCR function you
are using. For example, when you press SP/EP, SP
or EP appears to indicate the tape speed. As you
change channels, the channel numbers appear. The
current time shows even while the VCR is off.
Clock Message
SET CLOCK
— VCR clock is not set, or there was an
extended power interruption.
Playback Messages
AUTO TRACK
— Tape tracking is being adjusted
from VCR.
EP
— Extended Play speed is selected.
ALARM
— Turn VCR On and OFF to erase “ALARM”
message. If it is not erased, take VCR to an autho-
rized repair center.
F FWD (Fast Forward)
— Tape is advancing rapid-
ly.
FWD SEARCH
— Tape is advancing rapidly in play-
back mode for visual search.
LP
— Long Play speed is being used.
PLAY
— Tape is playing at normal playback speed.
PLAY HI-FI
— Tape playback using High Fidelity
audio.
PLAYX2
— Tape is advancing at twice (X2) normal
playback speed.
REV SEARCH
— Tape is reversing rapidly in play-
back mode for visual search.
REW (Rewind)
— Tape is rewinding rapidly.
SLOW
— Tape is playing at slow-motion forward
speed.
SP
— Standard Play speed is selected.
STILL
— Playback is halted on one frame.
STOP
— Tape rewind or playback is stopped.
-PLAY
— Tape is reversing at normal playback
speed.
-PLAYX3
— Tape is reversing at three (X3) times
normal playback speed.
-SLOW
— Tape is playing at slow-motion reverse
speed.
Record Message
ALARM
— Turn VCR On and OFF to erase “ALARM”
message. If it is not erased, take VCR to an autho-
rized repair center.
NO CASSETTE
— No cassette is in VCR.
NO TAPE TAB
— Recording is not possible as
Safety Tab is removed on cassette.
REC AUX
_ (Recording Auxiliary_) — VCR is record-
ing the program from the equipment connected to
the Audio/Video jacks on the front or rear of the
VCR.
REC CH
_— VCR is recording Channel _.
REC PAUSE
— Record mode is halted.
STOP
— Recording is stopped.
TAPING DONE
— All Timer-Controlled Recording
assignments are done.
TIMER SET
— VCR is in Timer-Controlled Recording
mode.
Tuner Messages

— Channel 3 has been added to your
favorite channels.
AUX_ (Auxiliary_)
— Auxiliary channel is
selected for viewing equipment connected to
Audio/Video jacks on front or rear of the VCR.
CHANNEL

— VCR is turned on.

— Monaural audio is being received.

(SAP) is being received.
