Problem

Possible solution

The hob burners will not light.

• Ensure the burner parts have been placed correctly.
• The battery may need replacing.
• Check that there is not a problem with your gas

supply. You can do this by making sure the other
gas appliances such as central heating or gas fires
are working.

The flame colour is orange/yellow.

• Due to the design of the burner the flame can appear

to be orange/yellow (flame disturbance) in certain
areas of the burner this is a natural occurrence.

The burner is not igniting or only partially lighting.

• Check that the burner is dry and that food spillage

or cleaning fluids are not present on the burner. This
can be dried with a cloth and stubborn marks
cleaned away with a dry nylon brush (old toothbrush
etc.)

The burner sounds noisy.

• It is natural for the burners to emit noise as the gas

is being drawn through the burner and may reduce
as they heat up.

The burner is emitting a popping sound.

• This is a natural occurrence when the burner is

alight and does not affect the performance of the
burner.

Noise

• It is normal for some metal parts on the cooker to

produce noise when in use, this is due to expansion
and contraction when heating up and cooling down.
