1.3 Safety precautions
CAUTION
!
Hazardous waste materials such as oils, refrigeration gas, fuel, coolant, solvents,
filter elements and batteries should be disposed of according local ordinances. Always put waste
fluids in separate and sealed containers.
Specific practices
In order to avoid and prevent accidents, injuries or pollution, it is best practice to follow rules and use specific precautions in
accordance with each operation or procedure.
Working at height
DANGER
!
Use safety harness, fall from height is most serious cause of accidents.
WARNING
!
Falling object cause injuries.
Welding Procedures
DANGER
!
Welding uses fire or spark producing tools which could create fire and explosions.
WARNING
!
Welding uses melted metal, that can cause serious burns.
Engine and Compressor
WARNING
!
Coolant could be above its boiling point. Never open filler caps until all pressure
has been released to prevent scalding.
WARNING
!
Securely tighten cooling system filler caps or steam could spurt out during engine
running.
WARNING
!
Do not touch engine surfaces or its components while running or shortly after.
Serious burn and scalding may result.
First Aid
Flush Scalding or burn with cool or lukewarm water for 10-30 minutes stopping
burning process. Never use ice or iced water. Try to remove clothing and jewelry near burnt area
only if they are not stuck to the burnt skin. Call a medical doctor.
Refrigerant Oil
WARNING
!
Always wear Goggles or Safety Glasses, refrigerant oil can produce permanent
damage with eyes contact.
First Aid
Flush eyes with water for 15 minutes and consult a medical doctor.
WARNING
!
Keep refrigerant oil away from skin and cloths, it is minimally irritating. Use
nonabsorbent gloves.
First Aid
Upon contact with skin, wash with soap and water. Remove contaminate clothing,
to be cleaned before reuse.
