PURPOSE
The purpose of this App Note is to outline the EIB-UAV-01 UART’s controls.
2.0
Available UART’s
2.1
Frontend Board
The available UART’s on a fully built FXXX-DCK-15 is 2 – 3 from the front end board (FSDI/FV4K has KEL J1
and Flex I/O =
2
, FV2K has KEL J1 and J2 and Flex I/O =
3
) then there is an additional 3 UART’s available off
the interface board EIB-UAV-01 (UART0, UART1 and UART4)
The KEL connector (J1 and J2) UARTs are pins 18 and 19 and are reserved for Camera 1 and Camera 2
connected via the KEL cable; and controlled via the z3termserv to serve VISCA commands directly to the
camera from either the encoder software (Serial/SSH VISCA menu, Camera 1 tab or through an open TCP
port to the encoder on port 1000 (KEL connector J2) and 1001 (KEL connectorJ1)
The Flex I/O connector UART pins are defined as pins 2 and 4 and are reserved for cameras such as the
Boson, Tau2 and Tamarisk. However this UART can be utilized for other devices if no thermal camera will be
used in operation. On the Term tab of the web UI this is defined as Function IR camera2
2.2
EIB-UAV-01 Interface Board
UART0 is on connector J4 (2.5mm stereo jack); Serial port interface, RS232 level. Tip=RX, Ring=TX,
Sleeve=GND and is defined within the Term Tab in the web UI as
Linux Console
UART1 is on connector J2 ; U
se CTSN as the buffer’s DE direction control on half duplex connections. Pin 3 is
TXD, Pin 4 is RXD and Pin 5 is CTSN. LVTTL levels are used for this connection. Within the Term Tab in the
web UI this is defined as
RS485(PTZ)
UART4 is on connector J3 ; Pin 2 is RXD and Pin 3 is TXD. LVTTL levels are used for this connection. Within
the Term Tab in the web UI this is defined as
User
Section 3.1.2 within this document further defines all Jacks of the EIB-UAV-01
CBL-0048-01 can be connected to J1, J2, and J3 and allow access to the UART2 pins defined. (Available for
purchase from Z3 Technology)
