A client is an application that uses the service of a server within a network. For example,
a web browser is a client because at every call of a website it sends a request to a web
server and receives an answer.
A server is an application that waits for the contact request of a client application and
exchanges messages with it after contact start. This communication type is called Client-
Server communication.

By means of a ftp server data between client and server can be exchanged. Here you
can copy, delete or create files and directories.
Depending on the ftp client your PC must have the following conditions for a ftp connec-
tion. If there are still problems with the ftp access please ask your system administrator.

activate directory view for ftp sites
For the adjustment choose in the Internet Explorer

"extended" in the area "Browsing” and set the following settings:
