ADJUSTING Self-DRIVe CONTROl HANDle CAble
The cables are preset by the factory. Proper tension is important because you will want
your snowblower to move forward properly in heavy snowfalls. You will want to perform this
test when temperatures are above freezing before snow season sets in. There are 2 levels
of tension in the control handles. It is best to run this test while the engine is on. Shut down
the engine once you’re ready to make any adjustments.
Stage 1 there is no tension, the transmission is disengaged.
Stage 2 there is tension, the transmission is engaged.

If there is no stage 2, the friction disc is near end of life.
Stage 1 increases slightly during long-term usage. If stage 1 is most of the control handle
movement, the wheels will not rotate properly. Make adjustments as follows.
