TO KEEP THE SCALE WORKING EFFICIENTLY

This waterproof digital scale is graded as IP68. IP68 is the grade of protection against complete,
continuous submersion in water. The scale is designed not to admit water even after it has been left
at a depth of one meter for 24 hours. However, this is just the test condition. Therefore it is strongly
recommended that submerging and washing the whole scale in water should be avoided in general
use, because submerging in water may cause the deterioration of parts and cannot keep the IP68
waterproof level.

IP Standards

They are a code indicating the level of waterproof and dustproof performance defined on the basis of
JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) C0920 and IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission)
529. They are widely applicable around the world.

2. When washing the whole scale, apply clean water and then wipe it with a dry clean cloth. Do not

apply seawater, dirty water and water including impurity, all of which can be cause of trouble.

3. If the scale becomes dirty, wipe it with a soft cloth. Do not use a scourer, scrub brush and so on.

4. Do not submerge the scale body that is removed the pan and pan support from the complete scale in

water including hypochlorous acid, which can cause deterioration of the parts. When washing the
scale body with hypochlorous acid, apply water spray to it. After that, make sure to rinse the scale in
clean water and wipe it thoroughly with a dry cloth.

5. When disinfecting the pan and pan support with hypochlorous acid, soak them in water whose

hypochlorous acid concentration is 200 ppm or below for 5 to 10 minutes and then rinse in clean
water and wipe them thoroughly with a dry cloth.

6. When washing the pan and pan support with a neutral detergent, apply a little neutral detergent to a

sponge and wipe them. Make sure to rinse them in clean water and wipe it thoroughly with a dry
cloth.

7. When disinfecting the complete scale with alcohol, apply solution whose alcohol concentration is

80% or below. Rinse the plastic part and front mask in clean water. Rinse the plastic parts and front
mask in clean water.

Do not loosen any screws.

Do not disassemble or modify the scale, you will void the

waterproofness. If you disassemble it by mistake, make sure to contact your dealer.

9. Do not drop the scale or hit against something hard such as a table, the scale may have cracks on

the housing and its waterproofness will deteriorate.

10. Do not open the battery lid in an extremely dusty environment. If foreign matters adhere to the

gasket, it may affect the waterproofness.

11. When exchanging the batteries, wipe a drop of water thoroughly with a dry clean cloth.

12. After replacing batteries, fasten the battery lid tightly. (Refer to page 7 ; How to set batteries.)

13. Do not press the part s of display, key switches and gasket with your nail or edged tools.

14. If dust or foreign matters get stuck in the lower diaphragm, take it away. (Refer to the instructions on

page 9)
