CALIBRATION

When you use the UDS-1V-WP for the first time, it is necessary to calibrate the scale at your area
before use. If you skip the calibration, the scale may not indicate the weight with accuracy.
Therefore be sure to calibrate the scale at your area before using scale.
1) Electrical

Calibration

The scale is equipped with the function of Gravity compensation (User Parameter # 09). It is
available to set the value that is appropriate for the area the scale is used. The value can be
evaluated by the below calculating formula

Calculating formula: (Acceleration of Gravity (m/s

2

) – 9.7600) x 10000 / 5 + 30 (offset)

*9.7600 = Fixed value

Example: Sao Paulo, Brazil (Acceleration of gravity = 9.7862 m/s

2

)

Setting value = (9.7862 – 9.7600) x 10000 / 5 + 30 = 82.4



82 (round off)

Change the setting value to “82” on the User Parameter # 09 based on the procedure
described in

HOW TO CHANGE USER PARAMETER

(Page 17).

When you use the scale next time, it is not necessary to calibrate the scale any more. It is
possible to weigh an item after the scale is turned on.

・

When you calibrate the scale with weights outside the area (9.796 to 9.799 m/s

2

), the procedures

for electrical calibration as follows.
1. Evaluate the setting value of the calibration area based on the above calculating formula and

change the parameter #09 to the evaluated value.

2. Calibrate the scale with standard weight on site.
3. If you use the scale outside the calibration area, evaluate the setting value of the area where

the scale is used and change the parameter #09 to the evaluated value again.

2) Calibration with Standard weight
When you calibrate the scale with standard weight, prepare the Class M1 standard weights
equivalent to the scale capacity. Calibrate the scale according to the following procedure.
e.g.) Calibrate the scale, capacity 6 kg.
