Drive belt slack adjustment

engine and other vital parts, and one that is tool
loose can skip and damage the awlngarm
or

an accident. Therefore, keep
the
drive
bett
slack
within the specified limits.
Measure the drive belt slack when the engine is cold,
and when the drive belt is dry.

Stand the motorcycle on a level surface.

Securely support the motorcycle so that there Is
no danger of It falling over.
Piace the motorcycle on a sidestand.

Rotate the rear wheel several times and
check
the
drive belt to locate its tightest point.
3.
Measure:
• Drive belt slack

• The level marks of the level window on the lower
drive belt cover are in units

them as a standard for measuring the drive belt
slack.

Measure the drive belt slack when the drive*lt
has
been pushed with
4.5
kg
(10
lbs) of pressure using
a belt tension gauge.
4.
Adjust:
Piace the motorcycle on
a
suitable stand so that the
rear wheel is elevated.
•
Loosen the wheel axle nut

• Loosen the brake caliper bracket

• Loosen both locknuts @.
