Measure the valve clearance in the following
sequence.

d. To measure the valve clearances of the other

cylinders, starting with cylinder #1 at TDC,
turn the crankshaft counterclockwise as
specified in the following table.

a. Align the intake and exhaust valve lifter slots

with each other.

b. Install the tappet adjusting tool “1” between

the camshaft and the valve lifter “2”.

NOTE:

Make sure the tappet adjusting tool touches only
the valve lifter “2”, not the valve pad “3”.

c. Slowly turn the tappet adjusting tool so that

the valve pad can be removed.
