Refer to “GENERAL CHASSIS” on page 4-1.

CHECKING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM

The following procedure applies to all of the ex-
haust pipes and gaskets.
1. Check:

• Front cylinder exhaust pipe “1”
• Rear cylinder exhaust pipe “2”
• Muffler “3”

Cracks/damage

Replace.

• Gaskets “4”
• Gaskets “5”

Exhaust gas leaks

→

Replace.

2. Check:

Tightening torques

• Exhaust pipe nuts “6”
• Front cylinder exhaust pipe and rear cylinder

exhaust pipe bolt “7”

• Muffler and rear cylinder exhaust pipe bolt “8”
• Muffler bracket and frame bolts “9”
• Muffler bracket and muffler bolts “10”
