NOTE:

DRIVE V-BELT HEIGHT AND INSTALLATION
Apply the parking brake before installing the
drive V-belt.
1. Check clutch center-to-center and offset
specification. Adjust as necessary.
2. Clean sheave surface of primary and sec-
ondary clutches.
3. Install the drive belt over the primary
sheave, noting the direction of the arrows
on the belt.
4. Rotate the secondary sliding sheave clock-
wise
1 and push 2 it so that it separates
from the fixed sheave.
5. Install the belt 3 between the secondary
sliding and fixed sheave.
6. Measure the V-belt height

secondary clutch is all the way together be-
fore measure V-belt height

Standard V-belt height:
–0.5

1.5 mm (–0.02

0.06 in)
7. If the height is incorrect, adjust the V-belt
height by spacer

V-belt height adjustment
To move V-belt up: Reduce spacer
To move V-belt down: Add spacer
8. Tighten the bolt 5 .

9. Install the drive V-belt guard.
Never run the engine without the drive V-belt
or with the drive V-belt guard removed.
