Off-throttle
steering
(OTS) control Engine speed is sus-
tained at or above
3000 r/min for several
seconds and then
throttle lever is fully
closed - simultane-
ously, the steering
handle is maneuvered
to the point the steer-
ing sensor is engaged. Slightly opens the throttle
valve so that the watercraft
can maneuver. Throttle valve opening is
controlled based on the
APS signal and the amount
of force applied to the
steering sensor.
Reverse with
traction con-
trol When the shift lever is
in the N position. Engine speed will be limited
to 3000 r/min. The control will be disen-
gaged when the shift lever
is moved forward.
Slant detec-
tion control Control is activated
when all of the follow-
ing conditions are
present:
• Slant detection
switch is on.
• Engine speed is
3000 r/min or less.
Ignition and fuel injection
are cut to all cylinders and
the engine is stopped. Cancel:
Engine is stopped.
(The check engine warning
indicator does not come on
and the buzzer does not
sound.)
L-MODE con-
trol L-MODE is activated. • Opening angle of the ETV
is regulated.
• Ignition timing is con-
trolled.
• Maximum engine speed is
limited to approximately
75% of the maximum
engine speed in the nor-
mal mode.
Cancel:
L-MODE is deactivated.
Low octane
fuel detection Control activates when
knocking has been
detected more than a
specified number of
times in a specified
period of time. • Opening angle of the ETV
is regulated.
• Maximum engine speed is
limited.
Cancel:
Engine is stopped.
Maximum
engine speed
control Maximum engine
speed is controlled by
the ECM. • Opening angle of the ETV
is regulated.
• Maximum engine speed is
limited.
