COMPRESSION PRESSURE
MEASUREMENT

SERVICE POINTS

The following procedure applies to all of the
cylinders.

NOTE:

Insufficient compression pressure will result in
a loss of performance.

1. Start the engine and warm it up until the

engine temperature is 48 °C (118 °F).

2. Remove:

• Seat

3. Disconnect:

• Spark plug caps

4. Remove:

• Spark plugs

CAUTION:

Before removing the spark plugs, blow
compressed air into the spark plug wells to
clear out any dirt or dust that can fall into
the cylinders.

5. Install:

• Compression gauge
