TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
If you have followed the instructions and are having difficulty in operating the unit, locate the SYMPTOM in the left column below. Check the corresponding
POSSIBLE CAUSE and CORRECTIVE ACTION columns to locate and remedy the problem.
SYMPTOM
No picture.
No sound.
The playback picture is poor.
“
” appears on the TV screen.
The DVD player does not start play.
The operation or display is not normal.
The remote control does not work
properly.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
An improper source is selected.
No disc is loaded or an unplayable disc is loaded.
The TV is not set to receive signal from the unit.
An improper source is selected.
Volume control is set to minimum.
An unplayable disc is loaded.
The selected function does not operate on the current
disc.
No disc is loaded.
An unplayable disc is loaded.
The disc is loaded with the label side down.
The disc is dirty.
“PARENTAL” is set.
The memory must be reset.
The batteries in the remote control are weak, or installed
incorrectly.
The remote control is not aimed at the remote control
sensor.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Select the correct source.
Load a disc or load a playable disc. (Check the disc
logo, type, color system and regional code.)
Select the correct input function on the TV.
Select the correct source.
Turn up the volume.
Load a playable disc. (Check the disc logo, type, color
system and regional code.)
The feature or action cannot be completed at this time
because:

The feature is not available at the moment.

The DVD software restricts it.
-
The DVD software does not support the feature
(e.g., angles).
Load a disc.
Load a playable disc. (Check the disc logo, type, color
system and regional code.)
Load the disc on the disc tray correctly.
Clean the disc or replace it.
Cancel the parental lock function or change the rating
level. Reset it after play.

Disconnect the power cable of the unit.
2.
While pressing both BASS and MUSIC buttons
at the same time, connect the power cable.
3.
Resume operation.
Check the battery polarity (+ or –).
Replace the batteries.
Aim the remote control at the remote control sensor.
For customers using a TV without progressive scanning capability
(U.S.A., Canada and Korean models only)
There may be the following case if the VIDEO OUT SCAN SELECT
switch on the rear of the unit is set to SELECTABLE and the VIDEO
OUT SELECT switch to COMPONENT.
If you select COMPONENT OUTPUT: PROGRESSIVE on
“Display” in the SET UP MENU while watching a picture played
back on this system, no picture is displayed on the TV.
In such a case, set the VIDEO OUT SELECT switch to INTERLACE,
then turn this system off and on again. The picture will be displayed on
the TV.
