The playback of an audio CD (CD-DA) cannot be heard.

Make sure that powerd speakers (optional) are correctly connected to the LINE
OUT jacks (L/R) of the
CRW2200UX
drive, using audio cables (optional).

For Windows Me, if no sound can be heard through the headphones connected to
the headphone jack of the
CRW2200UX
drive or through the speakers with a
built-in amplifier connected to the LINE OUT jacks (L/R) on the rear panel of
your drive, perform the following steps to change settings.
(If Windows Media Player 7.0 is used in combination with Windows Me, this
problem can arise since the digital playback option is activated by default.)
